Film making can be done for all sorts of reasons; entertainment, news, documentary. It’s a way to communicate what’s going on in the world: The good the bad and the indifferent.

For me it’s often about highlighting a problem and either sharing some solutions, or sharing stories of inspiring change makers, as a tool to help people see how they can make a difference.

When I worked on the film The End of the Line, afterwards I noticed people started asking supermarkets about the fish they were selling. Within a year 4.7 million people were aware of this movie. The overall commitment to buy sustainable fish rose from 43 per cent to 84 per cent among audiences seeing the film. (Britdoc study 2010)

The best stories change what we do and how we think, and that’s what I try to do with the films I make and collaborate on.
